Road Trip, how many states can we see in a week?

We went on a little road trip. We left hot California at 5 am and headed to Idaho, thru scenic Nevada. It felt good to cool off in chilly Idaho. We unpacked a trailer load into Chelsea and Tyler's apartment and went the next morning for another load that was in storage. We found out we had way too much stuff for the inside of the Expedition and 8 people once we dropped off the trailer. We needed to find a car top carrier.

We had lunch with some great friends, John and Julie. Keith has not seen his mission and apartment buddy for a few years. I always lucked out and saw them when I made the trip to Idaho with Morgan a year ago.

We loaded up and headed to Utah and then to Colorado. Wow, some lovely mountains and no smog! That makes 5 states we have driven in within 2 days. The view out the window was amazing, just beautiful.

We had the open house for Tyler and Chelsea which was so much fun to meet all his friends in Colorado. Jalen even tried to catch a bunny that likes to live in the neighborhood. The carrot Michael gave Jalen just was not enticing enough. Sorry Michael, the bunny is yours.

The most amazing thing to prove how small this world really is. We had some friends come to our reception in California and he brought his brother who just happened to be from Denver, Colorado. Guess who they knew? Yep, the Gutierrez's and the Castaldo's knew each other in Colorado, and the Gutierrez's and the Bigney's know each other in Cali. Too awesome!!

We loved it in Colorado, the weather was awesome. Did I mention no smog? There was a little smoke from southern cali that they were sharing. The kids loved the pool at the hotel, especially after being in the car for so long.
Jalen has a new favorite place to eat at. We went to Tyler's old place of work, Chick-fil-a, and had lunch as we were heading out of Castle Rock. It was really good, Jalen said good by McD and Wendy's he will now take a road trip downtown to get some in Sacramento. Good thing he is only 8 and can not drive!
We headed back to Utah and stopped at the Arches National Park just as it was getting dark. That means another road trip to see it properly, they were just beautiful to see as the sun was going down and as the moon was trying to shine thru the clouds.
We overall had a great time traveling to Colorado and back. A little sore on the tush but we had fun!
